Fact: people like to carry sofa cushions in SoHo

Yesterday was my two month mark of moving to New York. I wanted to write a big post about how great everything is going and about how much I love it here…instead I had a fantastic lunch followed by a great afternoon and evening and several bottles of bubbly.

Happy the Easter weekend?

I first saw this cartoon my senior year of high school and it had been cracking me up ever since. Prolly one of the only ones that still makes me actually laugh out loud every time I see it.

Today is Friday! I’m posting so that my dear and darling friends will quit bugging me about posting about my new job!

I guess I haven’t announced to everyone what my job is — I’m an executive assistant (officially) and the special projects coordinator (unofficially).

I’m only 2 full days in and so I don’t really have a ton to say, other than I think I’m going to be really really happy here. Basically, I love it. Everyone is SUPER nice! It’s a little quiet over where I am, but I’ve been told that there is about to be a Great Shift in the setup of the office and that soon I’ll have more people in my area so I won’t feel so secluded.

I love my job because it is 98% out of my comfort zone. I know almost NOTHING about what I’m being asked to do each day. For example, I have been added as a member of the “design committee” for our “office beautification” project. This means that I’m measuring all future conference/meeting rooms and drawing up plans and giving suggestions on arrangement of furniture and whatnot. It’s pretty freaking cool.

New York is AMAZING and it is totally surreal that I live and work here. I’m looking forward to having an established routine so that I can add more activities to my schedule (like dance classes and voice lessons).

The weather is gorgeous. Life is wonderful. Hope you are well.

XOXO, Kelli

The Flavia machine at work offers 18 kinds of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The espresso machine boasts another 8-10.

I’m never going to Starbucks again.
